I’m Jessica the girl behind the blog . Growing up, the kitchen was the most important room in the house. No matter what was going on, we could gather in the kitchen to eat, laugh, and enjoy being together. Food has always been a part of my life.
I was born and raised 15 minutes from downtown New Orleans and in this part of the country; food is more than simple sustenance.
My husband and I have taken a conscience step to not only eat healthier, but also live a healthier lifestyle by educating ourselves about what really is in food and during the process our way of eating changed. We watched a documentary called Forks over Knives and it changed our lives. By eating a whole foods Plant based organic diet & lower calories meals, we not only feel better, but also know we are taking better care of ourselves. I love to cook and to eat so I knew I had to keep the flavors while losing the fat and calories. We eat many delicious plant-based meals while incorporating the everyday flavors we already love. We are growing our own herbs and vegetables and that certainly makes eating healthy fresh meals enjoyable.
