There are rumors and leaks regarding the launch of the successor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 2. The Galaxy Z Flip is a Samsung smartphone with the first flip model for 2020.
Until now, Samsung has not confirmed the plans for the Galaxy Z Flip 2 but many are sure that the phone will be launched in 2021.
The first Galaxy Z Flip was announced on February 14, 2020 at the first Samsung Unpacked event of the year. At this event, Samsung released other flagship phones including the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 +, Galaxy S20 Ultra, and Galaxy Buds +.
Based on previous rumors, the release will be about three months after the disclosure date of the Samsung Galaxy S21 which is expected to appear in early January.
Despite the delays, 2021 will be a big year for Samsung’s foldable phone offerings. The South Korean company is predicted to launch five smartphones that can be folded. Another rumor reports that Samsung is focusing on a foldable line of devices and will discontinue the Note series from next year.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 2 Features
This report doesn’t say much about the Samsung Galaxy S21 series, but the latest flagship smartphone will come in three model variants. Production of all three will begin next month, with six million models expected to be available by the end of January 2021.
Use of the same schedule in the following year is expected to happen for the Galaxy Z Flip 2 as well as the Samsung Galaxy S30 or maybe the latest S21 and Galaxy Buds in February 2021.
The Galaxy Flip Z uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor, so the next generation will be upgraded to a better processor like Snapdragon 875 or at least to Snapdragon 865.
The Galaxy Z Flip 2 is unlikely to experience a big drop in cost, especially when integrates 5G connectivity. Samsung is likely to include these 5G features as standard, rather than making separate devices as was the case with the Galaxy Z Flip 5G.
